The 6000 students and teachers across 21 schools in Northern Ethiopia will benefit directly. We work with the Diocese of Adigrat to determine the need within the schools and distribute funds where they are most essential. We provide funds for items and training that will assist teachers, families and students to move towards complete self-sufficiency.
In the past, Educate Ethiopia has provided funds for books, classroom supplies and upgrading of toilet facilities to make schools more accessible to girls. Funds have also been provided for further teacher development, especially in English. A recent project, funded by a generous donor, equipped and updated a science lab at the Lideta high school in Alitena.
A child’s first step out of poverty is through education.
